1. What is BBL™?

BBL™ therapy , also known as Intense Pulsed Light therapy or the photo facial, uses cutting-edge technology to produce younger-looking skin that's firmer, and more even in tone and texture. Non-invasive with zero recovery time, BBL offers a safe, FDA-cleared solution for sun damage, anti-aging and skin rejuvenating photofacial therapy.

2. What issues can BBL™ improve?

  • Pigmented lesions (e.g., freckles, age spots)
  • Skin firmness
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Vascular lesions (e.g., small blood vessels)

3. How does BBL™ work?

BBL™ delivers light and heat energy that penetrates the top layers of your skin. Targeted areas, such as cells with darker pigment, absorb the heat and are destroyed creating a more even skin tone. The heat also stimulates the regeneration of new collagen below the surface for firmer and smoother skin. This process creates smoother, vibrant and younger-looking skin. BBL™ can also eliminate fine vessels that have broken under the skin and cause redness for more even skin tone.

4. How do I prepare for the treatment?

In the weeks before your appointments begin, avoid direct sunlight, don’t use tanning beds or spray tans, use sunscreen every day and refrain from using certain medications that make you more sensitive to light.

5. What happens during BBL™ treatment?

Your provider will clean your skin and begin treatment with the self-cooling BBL™ handpiece which keeps skin at a comfortable temperature throughout your treatment. If you find treatment uncomfortable, your provider can apply a topical numbing cream to reduce sensation.

Typical treatment programs include two to four BBL™ treatments per year to maintain results. It's usually recommended that individuals undergo treatment two to four times per year for optimal results.

6. What can I expect after my BBL appointment?

Immediately following BBL™ treatment, you may see mild redness in the treatment areas and skin may feel warm, like a slight sunburn. These effects usually disappear after a few hours but may last as long as a few days depending on the areas and issues treated.

7. When will I see results? How long will they last?

After just a few days, you’ll see healthier-looking skin with a more even skin tone! More stubborn issues such as sun damage, age spots and broken blood vessels will show improvement in one to two weeks.

Be diligent about using sunscreen that blocks UVA and UVB rays on exposed skin every day. Your beautiful results will last longer if you decrease your sun exposure.

8. What areas can be treated?

Almost any area of your body that has sun damage or uneven skin tone can be treated.

The most commonly treated areas include:
